Description

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to invite you to the next Superconductivity & Particle Accelerators conference (SPAS 2024) will be held from 21st to 24th October, 2024 at the Henryk Niewodniczański Institute of Nuclear Physics Polish Academy of Sciences (IFJ PAN).

Particle accelerators are the basic tools in the research of fundamental laws of sub-atomic particle physics (High Energy Physics-HEP). They are continuously pushing the technological limits and having a positive impact on medicine, industry, and other aspects of life. The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and European Spallation Source (ESS) are examples of the worldwide collaborative effort in this field. They are requiring the developments and advances in multiple branches of science and technology. Further developments in these branches are essential for planned future scientific machines, such as the Future Circular Collider (FCC) along with the thermonuclear fusion DEMOnstration Power Station (DEMO) and the DEMO Oriented Neutron Source (DONES). The advancements are not restricted to the fundamental research in physics. Indeed, there are now numerous projects and activities which use these developments in many applied research projects or the other potential Accelerator Driven Systems for sub-critical nuclear reactors, medical imaging, and therapy, various applications of superconducting technology, synchrotron light, and spallation source facilities. Superconductivity is essential for pushing the technological limits in the field of particle acceleration and other related fields.

SPAS conference is devoted to the research in the field of superconductivity and its applications to science, with a specific focus on particle accelerators, nuclear fusion and large scientific infrastructures. The topics of particular interest for the SPAS’2024 are:

  1. Big Science Projects,
  2. Large Scale Accelerator Facilities,
  3. RF for Accelerator Facilities,
  4. Superconductors - Materials and Technologies,
  5. Superconductivity in Fusion Technology,
  6. Applied Superconductivity,
  7. Cryogenics for Accelerators, Fusion Technology and High Field Magnets,
  8. Applied Accelerator and Descended Technogies.

We look forward to seeing you in the autumn of 2024!
