The Summer School is dedicated to students and young scientists interested in how infrared spectroscopy (IR) solves relevant biological issues in the nanoscale. The combination of IR with atomic force microscopy (AFM-IR) breaks the diffraction limit and complements the topographic images with information about the biochemical composition.

During the School, participants will have an opportunity to attend the whole workflow of cell culture, preparation, and measurements using conventional FT-IR and AFM-IR techniques. The practical experiments will be interspersed with lectures of world-famous specialists in the photothermal nanospectroscopic field as Professor Alexandre Dazzi (inventor of the AFM-IR technique) from Institut de Chimie Physique, Université Paris-Saclay, Orsay, France.

Participation in the Summer School will have a great possibility to work with the specialist of AFM-IR who use this technique in various scientific areas.
