1st Summer School on InfraRed Nanospectro-imaging 2025

Europe/Warsaw
Institute of Nuclear Physics Polish Academy of Sciences

Institute of Nuclear Physics Polish Academy of Sciences

Radzikowskiego str 152, 31-342 Krakow
Description

The Summer School is dedicated to students and young scientists interested in using infrared spectroscopy (IR) to address biological challenges at the nanoscale. The combination of IR with atomic force microscopy (AFM-IR) breaks the diffraction limit and complements the topographic images with information about the biochemical composition.

During the program, participants will gain hands-on experience in the entire workflow, including cell culture, preparation, and measurement using both conventional FT-IR and AFM-IR techniques. Practical experiments will be complemented by lectures from renowned specialists in photothermal nanospectroscopy, such as Professor Alexandre Dazzi, the inventor of AFM-IR, from the Institut de Chimie Physique, Université Paris-Saclay, Orsay, France.

This Summer School offers an exceptional opportunity to work closely with AFM-IR experts who apply this technique across various scientific fields.
