The Multiscale Phenomena in Condensed Matter – MULTIS conference is dedicated to exploring the latest achievements in condensed matter physics. We are glad to unveil the Multis2024 edition that will be held in a traditional on-site format from 16th to 19th September 2024 at the Institute of Nuclear Physics Polish Academy of Sciences in Cracow, Poland.
The Multis conference offers an opportunity for the interchange of knowledge, experiences, and cutting-edge developments in the field of condensed matter physics, focusing on research related to structure, dynamics, relaxations, magnetism, and various other properties where a wide range of experimental and theoretical techniques are employed. The conference will promote a fruitful and enjoyable interaction between participants during lectures, poster sessions, and discussions during coffee breaks and lunches. The diverse range of topics will hopefully inspire scientists and foster interdisciplinary collaborations, bridging connections within overlapping areas of condensed matter.
The institute is situated just 20 minutes away from the city centre, boasting a rich history as the capital of Poland for 500 years, featuring iconic landmarks with the historic Wawel Royal Castle and a picturesque main square.

The conference will feature the following thematic sessions:
- Soft matter and glass-formers;
- Molecular magnets and nanomagnets;
- Multifunctional materials;
- Spectroscopic and diffraction methods (neutron scattering, dielectric spectroscopy, IR spectroscopy, NMR, Positron Annihilation Spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, etc.);
- Computational physics; and
- Miscellany ( new ideas, advanced materials, surfaces, interfaces,…).
The Multis2024 conference marks the fifth edition of the Multis series, complemented by online YoungMultis meetings tailored for students and young researchers. Previous conferences in this series have included:
