Speaker: Krzysztof Piotrzkowski (AGH) Title: “An experiment for electron-hadron scattering at the LHC” Abstract: Exploiting energy-recovery technology, an intense electron beam will be brought into collisions with a hadron beam from the High-Luminosity Large Hadron Collider, concurrently with the hadron-hadron collisions. The expected very high ep luminosity at 1.2 TeV of the center-mass-energy opens a vast and very unique research field, on top of exciting studies of the eA collisions. In this talk I will review the LHeC concept, the layout of a new ep/eA/pp/AA general purpose detector at IP2 and discuss its physics scope.
