Speaker: Barbara Badełek (UW) Title: “A beautiful spin” Abstract: A renewed interest in spin-dependent aspects of the high energy physics originated in 1987 when the European Muon Collaboration at CERN formulated the "puzzle of the proton spin". Since then several polarisation experiments were carried on, both in the fixed target and collider modes. Recently a planned Electron-Ion Collider, EIC, primarily a "spin machine", added a new context to those studies. Spin-dependent features of nucleon structure will be discussed and followed by an outlook on present and future high energy experiments and methods of measurements. Using spin as a tool in revealing certain spin-independent aspects of the nucleon structure will be discussed too.
