Speaker: Dominik Derendarz Title: “Overview of the ATLAS results on jet quenching” Abstract: The ATLAS experiment at the LHC has undertaken an extensive program to probe and characterise the hot and dense deconfined QCD matter created in relativistic heavy-ion collisions, the quark-gluon plasma. Studying jets produced in heavy-ion collisions provides information about the short distance scale properties of quark-gluon plasma and the energy loss of strongly interacting particles traversing this matter, a phenomenon called jet quenching. In this seminar I will focus on the overview of the experimental results form ATLAS. I will also highlight the directions in which the measurements exploring larger datasets and improved experimental techniques are going.
