The influence of nanoinclusions on the auxeticity of selected f.c.c. model crystals of hard particles

IFJ PAN (hybrid)
During the presentation, a relatively new class of materials – auxetics – will be discussed. These materials, which are characterized by a negative value of Poisson's ratio, have been intensively studied for almost 40 years. One of the directions of research is the use of computer simulations to observe changes in the macroscopic elastic properties of simple models of crystals containing structural modifications (inclusions) at microscopic level. Changes in the auxeticity of models containing inclusions that are infinite in one [1,2] or two [3,4] dimensions will be discussed. The research results have shown that, depending on the inclusions used, the auxetic properties, which are an inherent feature of the f.c.c. hard sphere crystal, can be strengthened [1,3], weakened [2] or completely eliminated [4].
W trakcie prezentacji przedstawiona zostanie stosunkowo nowa klasa materiałów – auksetyki.
