The European Spallation Source in Lund, one of the largest
infrastructure projects of the past decade in Europe, dedicated to
increasing the availability of cold neutrons for a wide range of
scientific researches, is currently entering the final phase of
commissioning, and the first beam on target is expected very soon.
The experimental physics program - FINESSE - developed for
the new fundamental physics beam line will be presented, together with
some characteristics of the ESS, with a focus on the
experiments aimed at the Baryon Number Violation and the Dark Matter searches.
Current state of preparations to the design of the Cosmic Ray Veto detector,
the main contribution of our Institute to the experiment searching for
neutron-antineutron oscillations, will be given.
