General: Technical glitch with the setup. Accidentally used the last Zoom meeting link, creating extra confusion for remote participants.

Agenda:

1. Introduce the Forum to the PPSS 2026 students 

2. Presentation by Piotr on “What is behind the cosmo-seismic effect?”

3. QnA based on the presentation

1. How are the cosmic rays (CRs) measured? In what energy or observability range? - The detection rate of the secondary CRs is measured, which is simpler than measuring the primary CRs

2. Are these measurements on the detection rate of the secondary CRs a precursor to an earthquake? - Not to a specific earthquake, but on the global number of earthquakes with magnitude >= 4

3. Are the CRs measured at numerous places? Is there any location dependence? - In the paper, measurements from only 3 locations were used, and overall, there is no location dependence, but every measurement was stacked together for the analysis

4. Is there something new within our Earth that affects the CRs? - We don’t know about it, but just know that CRs are affected by the geomagnetic field

5. Is there a specific reason why a 5-day bin was used? - Early computation limitations allowed only a few bin sizes, but now with modern tools, the analysis can be performed for any bin size
