DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Viswanathan Mohandoss (King Abdullah University of S
cience and Technology\, Thuwal\, Saudi Arabia)\n\nFunctional materials oft
en exhibit complex relationships between crystal structure\, magnetism\, d
isorder\, and phase transitions. Understanding these relationships require
s experimental techniques capable of probing atomic structure and magnetic
interactions. Examples drawn from perovskite-type metal–organic framewo
rks\, ferrite and perovskite oxides\, and high-entropy oxides illustrate t
he role of neutron diffraction in resolving structural and magnetic comple
xity\, alongside complementary characterisation approaches. Particular att
ention is devoted to structural and magnetic disorder\, anomalous thermal
 expansion\, pressure-induced phase transitions\, hydrogen disorder\, and s
ymmetry variations. The complementary use of X-ray diffraction\, Raman spe
 ctroscopy\, magnetometry\, Mössbauer spectroscopy\, X-ray spectroscopy\,
and second-harmonic generation is also discussed. Together\, these studies
provide insight into structure–property correlations in functional mate
rials across diverse material classes\, with relevance to materials design
