• General:
  • Technical issues with the Zoom connection - need to be understood with the help of the
    tech expert, and try checking the setup at least 10 minutes earlier.

  • Introductions of members - We currently have 24 members from 4 departments, and still expanding!
  • Jerzy’s NZ64 group has 5 scintillator detectors, measuring low-energy background gamma rays, with 3 TB of cosmic muon data. Can discuss collaborating on an astrophysical project, based on the analysis of this data.
  • Add self-introductory slides.
• Presentation by Shreya on “The unobstructed view of the high-energy universe through Neutrinos”.
  • Overview of the discovery of neutrinos
  • Different detection strategies for low-, high-, and ultra-high-energy neutrinos.
  • P-ONE will be sensitive to high-energy neutrinos.
  • Astrophysical source association of neutrinos so far
  • Sky coverage of different neutrino telescopes

  • David -> Is the galactic center covered for high-energy neutrino detections? Yes, and especially by P-ONE.
  • Piotr and Suvendu discussed the possibility of a high-energy neutrino originating from our galaxy. Maybe some exotic physics at play?
  • Piotr, Swathi, and Shreya discussed utilizing neutrino observations, not just for source associations, but also for other known or unknown physics/astrophysics.
  • Jerzy -> Maybe also investigate low-energy neutrinos, which may have terrestrial and military applications.
• Forum activities
  • The webpage https://astrophys.ifj.edu.pl/ is being developed by Megha, Sarah, and Paweł to create sub-pages for different aspects of the Forum
  • Syed’s May seminar will be postponed. Need volunteers for the next seminars, and any topic recommendations are also welcome. Suvendu will update on his
    availability for a seminar.
  • Shared files on the Dysk server, and will be filled with more documents.
• Task responsibilities
  • Sándor will add our Forum meetings to the IFJ Indico servers for future meetings.
