Description

In this seminar, I will show the systematic uncertainties and possible biases introduced by theoretical assumptions needed to include DIS data at large x in a global QCD analysis. In particular, working in the CTEQ-JLab (CJ) framework, I will focus on different implementations of higher-twist corrections to the nucleon structure functions, and of off-shell deformations of PDF in deuteron targets, and how their interplay impacts the extraction of the d-quark PDF and the calculation of the neutron structure function at large x. I will show how that the theoretical expectation on the removal of such biases is proved by the phenomenological analysis in the CJ framework, and discuss the differences with the results of other groups. Finally, I will suggest new observables to better understand the nature of these uncertainties.
